Johannesburg, South Africa; Power Management Company, Eaton, is this year’s Silver Sponsor for African Utility Week 2017, taking place from 16-18 May 2017 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, Cape Town, South Africa.
Investing in the industry by participating in crucial conversation is a key priority for Eaton and with that view in mind, Eaton will host, The CEO Forum in collaboration with Africa’s leading power and water utility executives to discuss Africa’s energy challenges, reliable renewable energy sources and energy storage as a viable solution to providing access to electricity to underserved communities on the continent.
“Currently the renewable energy generation capacity of South Africa is roughly 10 percent. We expect this trend to evolve aggressively in the near future, largely due to new technologies entering into the market such as energy storage. This technology will address the concerns in the industry around the reliability of alternative energy sources. Seydou Kane, Managing Director for Africa – Electrical Sector, EMEA.
