Nestled beneath Lion’s Head and surrounded by ocean views, the President Hotel, Cape Town, and executive chef, Philip Alcock invite food and wine lovers on a sophisticated culinary journey with their new Wine & Dine series; a five-course dinner masterfully paired with a selection of distinguished wine estates, all for R325 per person.
On 05 September guests will be treated to a menu rich of flavour and local ingredients created to enhance the exceptional qualities of Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards. From 19:00, diners can tuck into a wholesome menu paired by the estate’s esteemed Head Winemaker, Renier van Deventer. The menu will start off with Leopard’s Leap Sparking Chardonnay Pinot Noir paired with a smooth chicken liver parfait, preserved lemon purée and lemon thyme crouton, followed by the estate’s Culinaria Chenin Blanc complimenting za’ater spiced swordfish carpaccio, mango yuzu pearls, roasted orchard apple and ponzu dressing, thereafter Leopard’s Leap Classic Shiraz will be harmonised with confit duck, cherry purée, artichoke, truffle and herb salad. Following a carrot and gin granite palate cleanser, guests will indulge in the main dish of sous-vide kudu loin infused with cinnamon, fondant potato, slow roasted beetroot and red current jus balanced with Leopard’s Leap Classic Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot, then sweetened off with Culinaria Muscat De Frontignan opposite a delectable raspberry and rose with white chocolate mousse, litchi namelaka and lemon jelly.
