Come celebrate Africa month at the SAB World of Beer with our monthly food and beer pairings in Newton, Johannesburg.
Africa day is commemorated on the 25th of May. This year Africa celebrates 56 years of independence, freedom and liberation from colonial imperialists.
Each food and beer pairing menu boasts authentic African cuisine from West, East and Southern Africa paired with beers from Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Mozambique, Lesotho, Botswana and Swaziland.
Each experience focuses on finding the synergy between beer, a grain-based beverage, and traditional African food through pairing with simple or both rich and complex flavours.
“We are delighted to celebrate Africa Month at SAB World of Beer and encourage all lovers of authentic African cuisine and beer to enjoy the artistic fusion of each course,” said Felicia Mokoena, general manager of World of Beer.
The beer-pairing lunches will be held on the first three Saturdays of May at the five-star tourist attraction in Newtown.
“The menu changes every week,” said Mokoena. “But what remains consistent is guest experience and the authenticity of traditional African cuisine that is carefully crafted to pair with SAB’s African brands.”
Various chefs and/or brewers will guide guests through the pairing – drawing attention to the mouthfeel, flavour and aroma of each beer and how it enhances the flavours and textures of the food.
Each pairing includes traditional SAB beers, brewed across Africa accompanied by traditional Africa cuisine.
