This November, come to The Vineyard, to taste some of The Cape’s most spectacular wines. This month, the wines being showcased do not only cater to every palate, but they are also organically harvested and produced.
5th November – Guests will be sampling wines from Steenberg Vineyards, the oldest registered farm in the Cape. Wines are produced here using environmentally considerate winemaking processes. Popular varieties include Méthode Cap Classique, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Nebbiolo and the ICON wine Magna Carta.
12th November – Producers of Miss Molly, Moreson and the outstanding Series of Flight collection, Moreson prides itself on “microscopic attention to detail”. Newer vineyards are organically cultivated, while older vineyards are being converted to organic practices. Look out for their Chardonnays – the team at Moreson have spent 25 years experimenting with this cultivar.
19th November – Don’t miss this chance to experience Graham Beck’s pursuit of the perfect bubble! The estate focuses on producing South Africa’s finest Méthode Cap Classiques: the Non Vintage (NV) Collection (Brut NV, Bliss Demi Sec NV and Brut Rosé NV), The Vintage Collection (Blanc de Blancs, Brut Zero and Brut Rosé) and The Prestige Collection (Cuvée Clive).
26th November – Hermanuspietersfontein wines are made from grapes farmed in the mountains between Cape Agulhas and Hermanus. Their range consists of Sauvignon Blancs, Bordeaux blends and Rhone-style blends, including easy-drinking lifestyle wines as well as serious, more complex contenders. Ask about the story behind the name of each wine (and the sheep…).
