The first-ever South African Sleep Health Symposium 2018 will be hosted by the University of Cape Town and the Sports Science Institute of South Africa in Newlands, Cape Town from Monday 10 – Tuesday 11 September 2018.
This two-day Symposium, appropriately themed “Connect ⋅ Communicate ⋅ Collaborate, aims to bring together researchers and practitioners with a common interest in sleep and its association with mental and physical health. Specifically, the Symposium will provide a platform for delegates to share their research, identify opportunities for collaboration and strengthen the sleep-research network within South Africa.
Dr Dale Rae, Director of Sleep Science and Programme Director for the 2018 SA Sleep Health Symposium says: “We are thrilled to have Prof Ihori Kobayashi from Howard University, Washington D.C. in the US as our International Keynote speaker for the Symposium. Prof Kobayashi’s research explores sleep’s role in the development of and recovery from post-traumatic stress disorder, an area of particular relevance to the majority of our South African population.”
If you are a health professional or have an interest in sleep join us from the 10 – 11 September 2018 as we aim to improve the sleep and sleep health of all South Africans
