BLEND YOUR OWN WHISKY AT WHISKY & SPIRITS LIVE
Think you have what it takes to become a master distiller? Try your hand at blending your own with the Three Ships micro-distillery. A fun addition to the Whisky and Spirits Live held 8 to 10 November 2017 at the Sandton Convention Centre. The innovative technology and custom-made simulation of a whisky distillery allows you to select from slightly peated to heavy peated malt, older and lighter wood grain expressions in creating the exact balance you think your palate would enjoy.
Access to the micro-distillery is granted post a visit to the Three Ships Whisky stand where you will discover the Three Ships Select, Three Ships 5 Year Old Premium Select, Three Ships Bourbon Cask Finish, Three Ships 10 Year Old Single Malt 2005 vintage and the world’s first Three Ships 15 Year Old Pinotage Cask Finish.
Africa’s only master distiller, Andy Watts will share an incredibly rare single malt master class experience where he will present all the single malts launched in the history of Three Ships including the sold-out 10 year old single malts of 2003 and 2010, recently launched vintage 2005, a sneak-preview of the soon to be launched 2006 vintage and a taste of one of the oldest single malts, drawn directly from the barrels, currently in maturation at The James Sedgwick Distillery situated in Wellington.
It will be the first year that the world’s largest whisky festival will include a range of premium spirits in addition to the almost 300 whiskies available to taste. Tickets start at R240 each from www.ticketpros.co.za and include 16 tasting vouchers, a bottle of Consol Glass Still Water and a tasting glass.
Master class tickets are sold separately and Andy Watts will be presenting his rare single malt tasting on the following dates and times:
Wednesday, 8 November: 18:30 – 19:30
Thursday, 9 November: 18:45 – 19:45
