Photos and videos don’t affect Twitter’s character count anymore: Gone are the days of sacrificing your Twitter character count for a photo, video or GIF. Twitter announced in a tweet on Monday, 19 September that visual elements like images, GIFs and polls will not affect the character count of a tweet anymore – giving users a full 140 characters to speak their minds.
