Raunchy rock and melodic pop extravaganza

They’re hot, they’re ultra cool and they know how to rock!  For the fourth year in a row, The Angels of Rock plan to get Gauteng rocking when they perform at the Carnival City Big Top Arena in Brakpan on Saturday, 12 May.

The talented line up includes the poster girl of rock herself, legendary Karen Zoid who will be joined on stage by gritty rock n roll revivalists Cortina Whiplash, quirky pop-duo The Arrows, electro-pop-rock darlings Aneva, melodic rockers Only When It Rains, the recently reunited Holly and the Woods as well as acclaimed songstress Louise Carver and the ever popular Tamara Dey of the Flash Republic.

The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be television personality and host Elma Smit.

In addition to sounding like an angel, each performer has the heart of one and the show proudly supports organ donations.  For more information, visit www.odf.org.za.

The show starts at 17h00 and tickets are available from Computicket between R160.00 to R225.00.

During a career that lasted from 1865 to 1908, H. H. Bennett photographed the rugged landscape of his beloved Wisconsin Dells, and became one of the premier photographers of the era. He captured the Wisconsin River, its rock formations, tourist visitors, lumber rafters, Ho-Chunk residents, steamboats and much more. Bennett loved the natural landscape of the river and spent his life conveying its beauty and many moods to the public.

As a photographer he also traveled the state and regions nearby to create stunning images of Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and Chicago. In Milwaukee Bennett applied his artistry to street scenes and the harbor; in Minneapolis he focused his lens on the Winter carnival and its ice palace; in Chicago he created unique images of popular large scale panorama paintings such as the Gettysburg Cyclorama and of the Columbian Exposition of 1893. For the Exposition, he also photographed Wisconsin state educational, welfare, and penal institutions.
