Road racer AJ Venter, the only South African to enter the 2019 Isle of Man TT (IOMTT), finished up in 5th place in the Electric Bike category after a challenging time-trial based 24th place start.
Fitted with Dunlop D213 GP Pro racing slicks, Venter said, “Having confidence in the tyres was pivotal to my performance, allowing me to break as late as possible, and get back on the gas even earlier. This saw me making a few really good moves on the breaks and coming out of corners.”
The TT, known as one of the most dangerous public road racing events in the world, was held earlier this month. Dunlop tyres were the most successful tyre this year with five race wins and 12 podiums. The road legal D213 GP Pro slick, with its fast warm-up time, gave riders the confidence to set new lap records. Venter says. “I was simply blown away by the Dunlop D213 GP Pro on the road. It is really a superb tyre that I am very happy to put my name to.”
