For the past twenty three years, the LPGas Safety Association of South Africa (LPGSASA) has been promoting the safe use of this versatile and highly efficient energy source.
The lessons learnt, the standards created and the safety procedures instituted are all in place, for the benefit of the consumer.
As a non-commercial, non profit organisation, the LPGSASA’s main focus is to ensure that LPGas is used responsibly and safely in all applications.
Today’s energy scenario, with a potentially unstable and increasingly expensive electricity supply, is encouraging the consumer to seek out alternative sources of energy – not least of which is LPGas.
The LPGSASA wishes to educate and inform the consumer on the safe use of LPGas, especially for the application of heating our homes this winter. The Association would like to enlist the help of the media in order to make this information available to as many consumers as possible – to ensure that those who do decide to use LPGas appliances, do so safely.
An increase in the demand for LPGas will see an increase in the number of consumers using appliances and a more informed consumer will make a more responsible and safety conscious user.
The attachment covers safety matters surrounding the selection and use of appliances, in this case, an LPGas heater.
Other, equally important factors to consider are the use of Registered Installers and the guidelines and standards around the use of LPGas cylinders.
