Kids across Gauteng will be thrilled to hear that the circus is coming to town this Easter. Lions, tigers, elephants, horses, perky poodles, acrobats and clowns – they’ll all be bursting into the ring at this year’s Rand Show.
South Africa’s biggest family expo welcomes Brian Boswell’s Circus to its exciting lineup of family-friendly attractions.
From 22 April to 2 May, Brian Boswell’s Circus will present four hour-long shows each day – at 10am, 11:30am, 2pm and 3:30pm. And they’re free of charge to Rand Show ticket holders.
Brian Boswell’s Circus, a household name in South Africa, has been entertaining audiences across the country with traditional circus fun for the past 29 years. The performances at the Rand Show will feature unforgettable acts by awesome animals, hilarious clowns and talented artistes.
The big cats will be there, led by Georgina Boswell. See Tombi the lioness and tigers Kumar and India performing moves that come naturally to these magnificent cats, as they interact with their handler.
The majestic Wankie and Tembi, the elephants of Brian Boswell’s Circus, give you a ringside view of their immense size, as their handler, David Marais, walks them through their routine.
Trained horses and ponies prance into the ring with trainer, Jane Boswell, while perky poodles will delight the crowds with their energetic antics.
Not to be outdone by their furry ‘colleagues’, Brian’s Circus’ talented artistes have a jaw-dropping lineup planned for the Rand Show. Don’t miss Eldavido, the death-defying Hu-man Cannonball. Marvel at the feats of the man of mystery and magic – Rashid. See dis-plays of agility and balance in daring aerial cradle trapeze, slack wire and aerial web dis-plays.
There’ll also be energetic acrobatic performances, a boa constrictor display, clowns up to all sorts of mischief, jugglers, and even some ‘pigs-in-training’ – if you’re lucky, and if they feel like it, these porkers might show you how they go down the slide.
