The monthly Unwined & Dine experience at The President Hotel bring together the best of the Cape’s wine estates, skillfully paired with delicious dishes from the hotel’s accomplished Executive Chef, Jacques Swart. Situated in the heart of Bantry Bay and surrounded by breathtaking sea views, guests can expect a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere while indulging in a unique menu complementary to the culinary paradigm shift of the seasons.
This month, The President Hotel will be teaming up with the reputable Cederberg Wine Farm on 17 October from 19:00, which promises to be an intimate evening of an unforgettable dining experience all brought to life with live musical entertainment, a chance to meet the winemaker and more – all for only R450pp.
On arrival guests will be treated to a glass of Cederberg Blanc de Blancs Méthode Cap Classique 2014 while experiencing the sounds of live entertainment in the dining area. Once settled, the culinary journey will begin with the intriguing flavour combination of a passion fruit duck prosciutto with fennel praline alongside a hearty parsnip puree. Thereafter, to awaken the palate, a grapefruit and pink peppercorn sherbet will be served with a Ghost Corner Pinot Noir 2017, creating a harmonising balance of flavours with its intense gooseberry aroma and lively acidity.
For mains guests can anticipate a cherry stuffed quail with aurbergine, onions and fine beans enhanced with an aromatic au jus. The robust flavours of the Cederberg Cabernet Sauvignon 2017, accompanied with the tender quail creates a delightful alchemy of flavours, awakening the senses to intriguing notes within the wine – a true testimate to the chef’s world-class skills. To finish the immaculate experience guests will be delighted with an aromatic spiced panna cotta and forella pear sponge, bedded on a mound cinnamon soil with a saffron ice cream, creating a fitting end to the culinary journey.
