Penreach is a whole school development program situated outside Nelspruit in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Its vision is to develop an ethos of quality leadership, teaching and learning in schools, and to develop whole learning communities where everyone participates in the education of their children. Penreach’s programs include teacher development workshops, tutorial lessons for learners, a principals’ mentoring program, and skills development for school governing bodies and school management teams. It runs a mobile science lab and specialist subject advisors visit schools daily to assist teachers in their classrooms. Penreach works with schools in mainly rural communities, and sources donor funding for its programs. Currently Penreach works with over 2,000 educators in the ECD, primary school and secondary school sectors and maths and science development is a key focus area.
